A special thank you to the volunteers from Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), who joined us yesterday at the Huangpu and Hongmei Welfare Centers.
With Dragon Boat Festival is around the corner, volunteers made scented pouch (called “Hsiang Bao”), a traditional custom for this day. A pouch filled with herbal medicines, it is thought to protect people from illness, but more than that, through this activity the volunteers found it a great medium to connect with some elder mentors who helped them through the process.
For the elderly, they got to keep the pouches, but more than that, they got to enjoy a day of good company.
Thank you again to the TWE volunteers for taking the opportunity to bring a bit of cheer to the residents of the Huangpu and Hongmei Welfare Centers.
