On Jan. 20th, 2018, 150 volunteers, team leaders, new faces and old friends gathered together at the Naked Hub on Century Avenue to celebrate another year of impact!
Every year, HoS would not have achieved our success without every volunteer’s efforts, and this year was no different. It was a year where we saw more volunteers than ever join us, and and through their support more than 30,000 hours of service were given to the community.
To help provide a more memorable celebration, we moved away from the standard event where we simply hand out awards and prepared a host of fun and meaningful activities for our friends. The first of which was a sign language performance choreographed by our own Chloe Liu, and another being a Human Library event where 12 “books” (storytellers with different jobs and life experience) shared with "readers" their unique stories.
As mentioned by our founder, Rich Brubaker, " Amazing to think that we started with a group of 10 and 1-2 projects a month, and now have more than 7500 volunteers participating in more than 120 events per month. The power of one is real, and I am always so inspired when I am with these people. "
Thank you again for all the support from our partners, volunteers, and team leaders! We deeply appreciate your support and look forward to a more impactful 2018!
Be the change, Volunteer!
