“Tianci Tang was a freshman when I first saw him, now he already started working. He is the team leader of heart medical center. His tanned face, diligent figure during beach cleanup is still in my mind.”
My first volunteer experience with HandsOn Shanghai was in Fudan Children’s Medical Center, and while I cannot remember who was the team leader at that time or what was the exact activity that day, the memory of happiness and a sense of close connection are still strong in my mind.
“Though not a team leader, Mandy has devoted a lot of time into HoS volunteer program. She is hardworking, and while she does not have regular spare time, we can often see her name on the registration list.”
I’m a health care worker, and I am often exposed to life-and-death issues.
When you see too many illness, death, and suffering patients, you feel that you should do something, and after a friend’s introduction to HandsOn Shanghai. I joined my first event.
River Watching 2018
Are you looking for an opportunity to protect our environment?
With one of our key focus areas over the last 6 years being to help support Shanghai’s environmental protection, we are happy to announce a new program partnership focused river protection area.
In partnership with the River Watcher, we will recruit 14+ teams of River Watcher, and we would like for you to join us and keep eyes on the 14 main rivers.
In the coming March, HoS will start to recruit volunteer teams for this program.
Over the past 6 years, more than 5000 volunteers have helped to pick up more than 38,000kg of trash. IT is a HUGE achievement, but through our programs we are always asked "where did the trash go?"; "what's next after we done the trash-classification?" We do hope to see the "next step” after our volunteers’ hard working onsite.
