“Though not a team leader, Mandy has devoted a lot of time into HoS volunteer program. She is hardworking, and while she does not have regular spare time, we can often see her name on the registration list.”
I’m a health care worker, and I am often exposed to life-and-death issues.
When you see too many illness, death, and suffering patients, you feel that you should do something, and after a friend’s introduction to HandsOn Shanghai. I joined my first event.
HandsOn Shanghai's’ flexible time matches my schedule, and through my time volunteering with HandsOn Shanghai, I have gained a lot from the diverse and professional activities. More importantly, I have met a lot of like minded people who come from different backgrounds, but are coming together for the same goal: To help those in need.
Through HandsOn Shanghai, I have volunteered with CereCare, Fahua Nursing Home, Hongkou Baking Program, Children’s Medical Center, etc, some of which (because of my work experience) I am familiar with.
Others are totally new to me and through these experiences I have learned, and grow inspired when I serve as a volunteer.
HandsOn Shanghai, Be volunteer, be better!
