Partner: 1st People Cerebral Palsy Room Joyful Midday Lesson
Volunteers’ role: Teacher assistant
Activity background: Children with cerebral palsy need continuous exercise every day. Aside from rehabilitation training, they are also encouraged to train their communication skills by being around other people. These children can learn together and improve their cognitive capacity during the Joyful Midday Lessons. Through colouring activities and games, they can also have fun and express their creativity.
Activities:
- Holding a class for five to ten children during lunch break. Content is generally focused on basic cognition. The team leader will assign courses to volunteers. Volunteers need to prepare and be responsible for their part.
- Communicate actively with the children's parents.
Location:
1st People Cerebral Palsy Room lies in No.1,Hongguan Road,Hongkou District.
Note: Volunteers should wear appropriate clothes with friendly colours (e.g. no high heels and suits, shoes must be taken off in playroom). For hygiene reasons, socks need to be worn as volunteers will be sitting on the mats with the children. We encourage volunteers who have experience in organizing activities to sign up and hope that volunteers will be outgoing and take part in the activities actively.
1st People Cerebral Palsy Room's children are in poor health. To avoid possible cross infection, volunteers who have a cold or fall ill should not sign up for this activity.
