In November 2007, Hands On began its partnership with the QingCongQuan Autism Center.
At present, volunteers can participate in two types of activities at the Autism Center:
- Watching over the children on Saturday evenings while their parents attend a monthly meeting at the center and
- Helping children during their Game Day.
Shanghai QingCongQuan Autism Center was founded in 2004. It is a non-profit organization providing professional health training and tutoring for autistic children, children with learning disabilities, and their families. The autism center uses a variety of classes and methodology including ABA training, games, and art. It has also developed a parent’s exchange activity to provide further training for families. The autism center works to promote awareness and concern throughout all levels of society for children’ with autism and other special needs, thereby building a better social support system for the children.
Interested volunteer's may want to view the QCQ Volunteer Activities Overview, which summarizes all ongoing volunteer activities at the Autism Center. Not all activities are open to Hands On volunteers.
All volunteers must attend a training session before volunteering. Please do not sign up for this event if you have not undergone training.
